Does my piano really need to be cleaned?
Regardless of how clean a home is kept, pianos will always collect stuff on the inside. Dust and pet hair is the most common, but other stuff makes it way down into the crevices of pianos.

The keys in this 1962 Wurlitzer were removed for the first time, revealing decades of dust and dirt. Among the treasures were several coins, sewing pins, bobby pins, and a dog tax tag from 1961.
Also, the rodent damage was extensive, and will require repair at a later date.
The client had two children’s books from the 1950s and old “learning cards” from an unknown date, as well as a new credit card! Everything was deep in the piano, and prevented several keys from functioning properly.
Prior to this picture, a large 8” rodent nest was removed. Droppings, chewed keys, chewed straps, and food caches were extensive in this piano.
